New features include: brand new windowing system for apps that lets you freely resize app windows menu bar similar to the Mac’s Files app enhancements Live Activities and support for Background Tasks more precise cursor and much more The first developer beta, as is often the case, has been filled with bugs and performance issues that Apple will aim to address before iPadOS 26’s public launch this fall.Today’s beta 2 is expected to include some bug fixes, and likely other changes and enhancements to the ‘Liquid Glass’ design and iPad multitasking features.The earlier we are in the summer, the more likely there are to be big changes with each new beta.
