Samsung has just released an important update to all of its Galaxy phone users ahead of a planned Emergency Alert Test tomorrow.The warning has been issued due to the UK government trialing its warning system which is being put in place to alert UK residents of life threatening emergencies such as storms, flooding and wild fires."Samsung Electronics are letting our customers know that the UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm," Samsung explained.Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT"Your mobile phone or tablet will vibrate and make a loud siren-like sound, even if it is set on silent."The alert message will confirm this is a test and that you do not need to take any further action." How to opt out of the alerts Don't want to hear the alert tomorrow? You can switch the system off, although that means you won't get future messages or real-life warnings.It's easy to stop the alerts.iPHONE USERS: To opt out, Apple iPhone users should go to settings, search for "Emergency Alerts", and turn off Severe & Emergency Alerts.ANDROID USERS: Those with Android can do the same by searching "Emergency Alerts" in settings and switching off Severe & Emergency Alerts.This isn't the first time this system has been tested.The first alert was pushed out back in 2023.
