Severance is far from the only sci-fi hit in the Apple TV+ catalog. The dystopian thriller Silo aired its second season last fall, and season 3 is well under way. Here’s everything we know so far about Silo season 3.
Season 3 expands the story outside the silos Silo season 2 ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. While the series to this point has been set almost exclusively inside underground silos, the season 2 finale shook things up.Creator and showrunner Graham Yost confirmed that’s a sign of things to come: As anyone who has read the full series of books Silo is based on knows, it’s a safe bet that there will be lots of non-silo scenes coming in season 3.
New lead actors join the cast Related to that finale cliffhanger, Silo season 3 will add two new lead actors to the cast.As first seen in season 2’s closing scene, Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick join the current ensemble in a big way next season.Juliette and the rest of the Silo characters you know and love will still be around, but with some new faces in the mix too.
Four seasons coming in total, with full Apple TV+ greenlight Silo is based on a trilogy of books by Hugh Howey, so the show’s creators have a pre-set template to follow.Book 1’s story was split over both seasons 1 and 2 of the show. It’s expected that books 2 and 3 won’t be followed strictly chronologically in the adaptation.
Instead, the events of both books will be intertwined during the upcoming seasons 3 and 4.Apple TV+ has already greenlit all four seasons of Silo. And once season 4 airs, the series will be complete.
When to expect Silo season 3 on Apple TV+ Silo fans will be glad to hear that season 3 is making good progress.Apple TV+ just announced today that season 3 has officially completed shooting. There’s still plenty of post-production work ahead before the new episodes can be released.
But it’s a great sign that work is moving ahead with no delays.Things can always change, but it seems likely that we’ll see Silo season 3 debut some time in late 2025 at the soonest, and more likely early 2026—about 12-18 months after the last season.Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Silo, and Shrinking.
