BMW is nearly finished with the redesigned X5 SUV, and it's promising its widest-ever selection of powertrains—including its record-setting first electric model, the iX5.The inaugural U.S.version of the iX5 60 xDrive will include a gigantic 144kWh usable battery capacity based on the sixth-generation eDrive platform, including dual-motor 578HP output and a fast-charging 800V architecture.
While BMW isn't sharing the range, the iX3 already has a large battery whose 108.7kWh capacity delivers 434 miles of EPA range.The bigger SUV might be an ideal EV for road trips.Both the exterior and interior designs are closely guarded, although the lightly-camouflaged prototype makes clear that Neue Klasse cues from the iX3, electric M3, and other models will carry over.
