The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just released shortlists in 12 categories for the 98th Academy Awards: Animated Short Film, Casting, Cinematography, Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Short Film, International Feature Film, Live Action Short Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Sound and Visual Effects.Nominations voting begins on Monday, January 12, 2026, and concludes on Friday, January 16, 2026.
