(), Liza Soberano (, ), Tony Award-winning Lea Salonga (, ), Dave Franco (, ), Manny Jacinto (, ) and Jenny Slate (, ) have boarded the upcoming film about lifelong best friends, stranded on a fantastic world, where their only way home might mean they forget all they’ve done together.Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado write and direct; Crawford’s longtime collaborator, Mark Swift, produces.The pair received Oscar, BAFTA, and Golden Globe nominations for the critically acclaimed . marks their third collaboration.
The film will also mark the directorial debut for Mercado, who also served as co-director on and head of story for Crawford on .Nathan Matthew David (, ) will provide the score for the film.The film posits the question, “What if your lifelong best friend just forgot all about you? Forgot all the love, the joy, the pain, all of the memories and experiences you once shared.” When Jo (H.E.R.) and Raissa (Liza Soberano) find themselves stranded on the fantastic world of the forgotten island of Nakali, they find that their only way home might come at the expense of a lifetime of memories and emotions.
