Mercedes is back with another new car that offers both petrol and all-electric variants.The latest GLB now follows the recently released CLA saloon, with Mercedes moving away from dedicated E-branded EVs and offering customers a choice between battery power and fuel.And just like the highly rated CLA, this latest people mover might convince some that a fully electric option is the way to go.
Despite its XL size, the all-new GLB 250+ with EQ Technology now features a range of almost 400 miles on a single charge.That's almost enough to get owners from London to Edinburgh without stopping.Even when things do run low, it offers rapid refilling, allowing owners to add 160 miles of motoring in just 10 minutes.
Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTAlong with that impressive range and speedy charging, Mercedes has also included some futuristic and more exciting styling, which features flush-mounted wheels and muscular vehicle shoulders.To add some extra dazzle, the latest GLB gets a flashy front grille that lights up at night.In fact, opt for the all-electric version, and there are a total of 94 individually animated LED stars that shine when the sun goes down.Thanks to its size, it can comfortably seat 7 passengers, and there's even a front trunk, or ‘frunk’, under the hood, which offers some extra space for everyone's bags.Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTTo make things more comfortable inside, the GLB features more headroom, and a huge panoramic glass roof is also available, which gives the cabin a spacious feel.
Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTThis panel can even be upgraded to Mercedes' SKY CONTROL panoramic roof.This glass can be switched back and forth between transparent for an unobstructed view upwards and opaque (milky) for more privacy.Passengers can also be treated to a light show with 158 stars that magically appear in the roof.Drivers are treated to two huge 14-inch displays, plus there's the option to add a third 10.25-inch screen for passengers to enjoy as well.All are powered by the latest in-house-developed Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), which offers an enhanced user experience and access to a wide range of popular apps and games, including Disney+.Thanks to its full integration with ChatGPT and Google, the GLB is incredibly intelligent and can answer nearly any question.
