The upcoming 3D epic from director Ishan Shukla serves as a spin-off of the original 2 ‘Baahubali’ live-action movies; the film, from Aniventure, Zaratan, Alcyde and Arka Productions, releases in 2027.
Leading global animation production companies Aniventure, Zaratan, and Alcyde have announced a major partnership with India's Arka Productions on the production of , the upcoming epic 3D animated spin-off of the original two live-action movies, the highest-grossing Indian film franchise of all time.The film is set to release in 2027.
The group has dropped the first teaser trailer for the film, which you can watch below.Set in the wake of the iconic cliffhanger that ended , follows the betrayed and murdered prince Amarendra Baahubali into the afterlife.As he navigates through the 14 realms of existence, he forges an unlikely alliance, confronts divine forces beyond mortal comprehension, and fights to restore balance to the cosmos.
The live-action films were written and directed by filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who serves as producer on .Ishan Shukla () directs from a script by Scott Mosier ().Mosier was also co-director on 2018’s for Illumination.
Aniventure's Adam Nagle spearheaded the deal, partnering with Zaratan's Andrew Pearce and Paula Bird to deliver a pre-production package.They brought on Alcyde Studio to help develop the look and guide the visual development across the entire film, overseeing storyboards, 3D previsualization, and key character designs to ensure a coherent and compelling visual storytelling.“When Ishan brought us the idea of expanding the universe into a stylized animated epic, it clicked instantly,” said Rajamouli.
“It feels like a seamless, organic extension of the world we built, one that will thrill long‑time fans and invite new audiences in.I am excited to bring these two films to the big screen.”
