Samsung only released its latest Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 folding phones in July, but the Korean tech giant has already confirmed the date and time of its next major event where it is expected to announce new products, including a new Galaxy S25 model. As part of the IFA tech trade show due to take place in Berlin next month, Samsung announced via a press release that it will hold a press conference at 11:30am Central European time (10:30am UK time) on September 4.Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT Read more: Three ways the Pixel 10 beats the Galaxy S25 - and three ways it doesn’t Read more: I want to love the Galaxy S25 Edge but Samsung failed to deliver one vital thing “Join us on September 4 to discover a more seamless mobile experience across a wider range of devices — from premium AI tablets to the newest member of the Galaxy S25 family,” Samsung said.“Be part of the reveal online and see how the next evolution of Galaxy sets a new standard for effortless productivity through multimodal capabilities.”Though Samsung has not said exactly which new devices it will launch at this event, it has not left much up to the imagination. The “newest member of the Galaxy S25 family” is very likely to be the Galaxy S25 FE, a mid-range version of the S25.
In previous years, Samsung has launched an FE - which stands for ‘Fan Edition’ - of its flagship Galaxy S series phone about six months after the main phones come out.The Galaxy S24 FE from last year launched in September for £649, £150 less than the S24 cost at the time, but packed in a screen the same size as the pricier S24 Plus at 6.7-inches.The mention of “premium AI tablets” suggests Samsung may also use the event to unveil new high-end Galaxy Tab S tablets, after the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Ultra were revealed in September 2024 alongside the S24 FE - but not at IFA.It seems as though Samsung is choosing to use the famous tech event for a big product launch once more, as it used to do at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona many years ago, before its standalone Unpacked launch events became commonplace.Samsung releases new 'life unfolds fast' advert That said, this event does not bear the ‘Unpacked’ moniker.Instead, Samsung is simply calling it a “Galaxy Event”.Bear in mind these are only educated guesses as to what Samsung is launching.
There could well be another Galaxy Watch FE device on show, or cheaper, mid-range tablets, though the company did just announce the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, which costs from £329.“A new gateway to the latest Galaxy AI experiences is about to open,” Samsung promises.Presumably the gateway is new devices.Whatever they are, Samsung Galaxy AI is already live and kicking in its existing Galaxy smartphones, tablets and wearables.
