Is your Samsung Galaxy Watch struggling to make it through the day? There are plenty of tips and tricks out there for squeezing more battery life out of it, but if you've tried them all and still feel like you could use a little more juice, it's worth digging into the Galaxy Watch's developer mode.There are a few settings in there you can toggle that can give you a slight but real improvement in overall battery life.How to enable developer mode on your Samsung Galaxy Watch It's similar to how you do it on your phone Close Before anything else, you need to enable Developer mode on your Galaxy Watch.
To do this, open the Settings app on your watch, go to About Watch > Software information, and then tap Software version repeatedly.After a few taps, you'll see a message saying Developer mode is now enabled.It will then appear as a dedicated option in the Settings app, just below About Watch.
That's it.With Developer mode enabled, here are the settings that can help you save battery.Turn off automatic Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is more resource intensive than simple Bluetooth Close The first thing I'd encourage you to do is stop your watch from managing Wi-Fi on its own.
To do this, open Developer options, enable "Turn off Wi-Fi automatically," and disable "Turn on Wi-Fi automatically when charging." Once that's done, manually turn off Wi-Fi and only turn it on when you actually need it.The reason this matters is that Wi-Fi is far more power-hungry than plain Bluetooth.Granted, the Galaxy Watch is configured to use Wi-Fi only when necessary, but with automatic Wi-Fi enabled, the moment your phone isn't around to maintain the Bluetooth connection, the watch starts searching for Wi-Fi networks.
For example, if you go out for a run and leave your phone at home, or simply walk into another room where the Bluetooth connection drops, Wi-Fi will automatically turn on and start draining your battery.However, you can stop this behavior by changing those settings and making a conscious choice to enable Wi-Fi manually, or simply bringing your phone closer so the Bluetooth connection stays active.And while manually enabling and disabling Wi-Fi might seem inconvenient, it really isn't.
Just swipe down from the top to open Quick Settings, and a single tap turns it on.There's no real need to automate this, and keeping Wi-Fi off can have a meaningful impact on battery life.Now, in case you’re thinking that disabling Wi-Fi would break things—it won’t.

By default, all three are set to 1x, but I'd recommend disabling them to squeeze a little more life out of your battery.This trick is generally associated with making an older device with a weaker processor feel snappier by sparing it from rendering all those animations.However, it can also help improve battery life.
Since the CPU has less work to do, it consumes slightly less power, which can help your battery last a little longer.I do this myself on my Galaxy Watch 4, and while it doesn't add hours to the battery life, I feel like I'm getting an extra 10–15 minutes.Granted, I haven't conducted a rigorous, controlled test to measure exactly how much battery it saves.
Logically, though, it should help, and anecdotally, I feel that it does.Disable full GNSS measurement With great accuracy comes great battery drain Close "Force full GNSS measurements" is a developer option on the Galaxy Watch that's disabled by default.However, it's a popular setting among advanced users—particularly runners and cyclists—who enable it to improve location accuracy.
By default, the Galaxy Watch briefly powers down the GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) hardware at regular intervals to conserve battery.If you're running or cycling, however, those brief pauses can result in less accurate GPS tracks, especially when you're off-road.Enabling "Force full GNSS measurements" keeps the GNSS chip active continuously, resulting in more accurate location tracking.
However, because the hardware never gets a chance to rest, it also has a noticeable impact on battery life.As such, if you use this feature, simply disabling it can noticeably improve your Galaxy Watch's battery life.The tradeoff, of course, is reduced location accuracy while you're off-road.
