In the latest episode of his new show, former ‘Prop Culture’ host Dan Lanigan, along with resident investigator Martin Meunir, dive into the iconic character’s meticulous construction, as well as the film’s off-camera advancements that changed stop-motion filmmaking forever.
The folks behind the new series, , have shared with AWN an exclusive look at their upcoming November 1 episode that takes a deep dive into LAIKA’s seminal 2009 animated film, .Specifically, the story behind the Coraline puppet.
Several years ago, Lanigan had a show on Disney+ called , which though loved by audiences, only ran for one season.But spurred on by the show’s fans, Lanigan launched his own show, on YouTube this past April 17.Each episode focuses on a specific cinematic artifact from Lanigan’s extensive collection, performing various forensic investigations to confirm legitimacy while celebrating prop-makers, costume designers, set decorators, and other crew members who were behind some of the most beloved films in cinema.
