Scanline VFX and Eyeline Studios to Merge, Rebrand as Eyeline

Netflix is bringing together the Oscar-winning visual effects studio it acquired 3 years ago with its cutting-edge technology and VFX tools lab under one brand.
Netflix has just announced that its award-winning VFX studio, Scanline VFX, and its technology and VFX tools lab, Eyeline Studios, are merging under one brand: Eyeline.    According to the streamer, by combining the two groups, “We’re uniting two industry-leading teams under a single vision: to push the boundaries of what’s possible in production.”  The two groups most recently collaborated on the most unique character on Season 2 of the hit horror-comedy, : Professor Orloff, a severed head in a jar, played by legendary actor Christopher Lloyd.

Founded 36 years ago, Scanline earned a Scientific and Technical Academy Award for its proprietary fluid simulation software, Flowline, and contributed groundbreaking work to global hits such as , and Netflix’s latest film, .Last month, Scanline won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or Movie for Season 2.Eyeline Studios, founded in 2019, pioneered the use of virtual production and volumetric capture, earning the Visual Effects Society’s inaugural Groundbreaking Technology Award for its stage technology, most recently showcased in the creation of Professor Orloff in Season 2.
