OPSIS Partners with Utopai Studios to Pioneer AI-Supported Content Creation

Leading visualization studio launches new division to harness video-to-video AI tools for creator driven, cost-effective feature and episodic projects; shows in pre-production with the AI-tech company include ‘Cortés’ and ‘Space.’
Following the launch of its new division dedicated to harnessing video-to-video AI tools for feature and episodic content creation, leading visualization studio OPSIS has just announced a strategic partnership with AI-tech company Utopai Studios. The collaboration begins with two projects already in pre-production:  – A feature film set in 1519, following Hernán Cortés as he defies impossible odds to conquer a nation, written by Oscar nominated Nicolas Kazan. – An eight-episode series set in the future, described as  meets .

The story follows a group of young pilots tasked with defending Earth from an alien threat, directed by Martin Weisz.Building on OPSIS’s groundbreaking visualization workflows, the partnership is taking advantage of unprecedented efficiency and cost-effectiveness in production without sacrificing quality or creative integrity.  “Our mission is clear: to empower creators to tell their stories exactly as they envision them—only faster and at a fraction of traditional production costs,” said Henrik Fett, CEO of OPSIS.“AI in our pipeline is not a substitute for human creativity; it’s a powerful collaborator that accelerates workflows while keeping artistic intent front and center.” Unlike approaches that risk diluting creative voices, OPSIS’s model is designed to enhance - not dictate - the visual language of each project.

Directors, designers, and artists maintain full authorship while benefiting from streamlined budgets and significantly reduced timelines.Utopai CEO co-founder and co-CEO Cecilia Shen, in an article on , positioned the collective mission: “We want to tell human stories and reimagine what filmmaking can become when generative technology is integrated from the start.” The piece went on to note, “Fundamentally, Utopai is utilizing AI to produce films and TV series that would have otherwise been left on the shelf.” The launch of this division underscores OPSIS’s commitment to advancing technology responsibly.By ensuring human creativity remains the driving force, OPSIS positions AI as a supportive tool - serving the vision, not steering it.

The OPSIS - Utopai partnership is further evidence that the expanding landscape of AI tools designed to enable uncompromised storytelling is defining a new era in innovative, imaginative entertainment content creation.Dan Sarto is Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Animation World Network.
