Apple TV+ has 17 new releases coming this summer, heres the full list - 9to5Mac

Apple TV+ has had several hit shows so far this year, but there’s a lot more on the way.It’s still early, so Apple likely has more announcements planned for summer TV+ releases.But with the summer movie season in full swing and schools starting to let out, here’s an early look at what Apple TV+ has planned for the months ahead.

May Murderbot When:  What:  Genre:  Based on Martha Wells’ bestselling Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series, “Murderbot” is a sci-fi thriller/comedy about a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients.Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.Deaf President Now! When:  What:  Genre:  “Deaf President Now!” recounts the eight days of historic protests held at Gallaudet University in 1988 after the school’s board of trustees appointed a hearing president over several very qualified Deaf candidates.

After a week of rallies, boycotts and protests, the students of Gallaudet University triumph as the hearing president resigns and beloved dean Dr.I.King Jordan becomes the university’s first Deaf president.

The protests marked a pivotal moment in civil rights history, with an impact that extended well beyond the Gallaudet campus, and paved the way for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).Fountain of Youth When:  What:  Genre:  “Fountain of Youth” follows two estranged siblings (John Krasinski and Academy Award winner Natalie Portman) who partner on a global heist to find the mythological Fountain of Youth.They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an epic adventure that will change their lives … and possibly lead to immortality.

Bono: Stories of Surrender When:  What:  Genre:  “Bono: Stories of Surrender” is a vivid reimagining of Bono’s critically acclaimed one-man stage show, “Stories of Surrender: An Evening of Words, Music and Some Mischief…” As he pulls back the curtain on a remarkable life and the family, friends and faith that have challenged and sustained him, he also reveals personal stories about his journey as a son, father, husband, activist and rock star.Along with never-before-seen, exclusive footage from the tour, the film features Bono performing many of the iconic U2 songs that have shaped his life and legacy.Lulu Is a Rhinoceros When:  What:  Genre:  “Lulu Is a Rhinoceros” — that’s who she sees when she looks in the mirror.

On a quest to spread kindness, the family musical special follows fun-loving Lulu as she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime, powered by new friends, courage and catchy songs! June Stick When:  What:  Genre:  ”Stick” is a new golf comedy series created by Jason Keller and starring and executive produced by Owen Wilson.Wilson stars as Pryce Cahill, an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom named Santi (Peter Dager).

“Stick” is a heartfelt, feel-good comedy about a found family and their relationships set within the world of golf as it has never been shown before.Echo Valley When:  What:  Genre:  In the edge-of-your-seat thriller “Echo Valley,” Kate (Oscar winner Julianne Moore) is a mother struggling to make peace with her troubled daughter Claire (multi-Emmy nominee Sydney Sweeney) — a situation that becomes even more perilous when Claire shows up on Kate’s doorstep, hysterical and covered in someone else’s blood.As Kate pieces together the shocking truth of what happened, she learns just how far a mother will go to try to save her child in this gripping tale of love, sacrifice and survival from BAFTA-winning director Michael Pearce and Emmy-nominated writer Brad Ingelsby.

TBD Summer Apple has confirmed these are launching this summer, but no specific date has been set.Slow Horses (season 5) When:  What:  Genre:  “Slow Horses,” a darkly funny espionage drama, follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes.Led by their brilliant but irascible leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb (Academy Award winner Gary Oldman), they navigate the espionage world’s smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.

The Morning Show (season 4) “The Morning Show” explores the cutthroat world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning.Platonic (season 2) When:  What:  Genre:  “Platonic” follows a platonic pair of former best friends approaching midlife (Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne) who reconnect after a long rift.The duo’s friendship becomes all consuming—and destabilizes their lives in a hilarious way.  Apple TV+ is available for $9.99 per month and features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Silo, and Shrinking.
