From 2,479 submissions, 62 have been chosen for the Short Film (international/Japan/Student/Music) competition, while 8 works were chosen from 172 submissions for the 30 Seconds Animation competition; festival runs November 21 -25.
New Chitose 2025 has announced that of the 2479 submitted films from 97 countries/regions across the world, 62 films have been selected for the Official Selection – Short Film (international / Japan / Student / Music) competition.Additionally, 8 works were selected for the 30 Seconds Animation competition out of 172 submissions.
Highlights of the submissions include Alex Boya’s , Theodore Ushev’s , Alexandra Ramires and Laura GonÇalves’ , Ryo Orikasa’s , and Julie Černá’s .The official short film selections will be screened in the New Chitose Airport Theater during the festival, which runs November 21 -25.The selected works will also be broadcast for a period from the end of October on digital signage throughout the airport at New Chitose Airport.
The New Chitose 2025 poster was designed by Japanese animation director and animator, Oshiyama Kiyotaka, who directed the animated feature .
