Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTThose wanting an easy installation can simply use batteries to power it, whilst anyone opting for a more fussy wired connection will get bonus features such as continuous 24-hour recording.Right now, Ring users have to choose between a wired or a wireless model at the checkout rather than getting a device that offers both connectivity options in one.Like Ring, the Tapo Doorbell Pro is fully weatherproof, offers two-way talk so you can chat to whoever has pressed the bell, and it can detect people, pets or deliveries being made.There's also smarter radar detection, which Tapo says will cut down on false alerts, and its 4K recording with a head-to-toe view offers crystal-clear footage of who or what is outside your home.Tapo says it will start shipping next month.So what about the price?This is one area where Ring still stands out.The Tapo Doorbell Pro costs £219.99, which is over £130 more than its Amazon rival.There's currently an early bird deal that drops this to just £159.99, but Amazon also has a sale event on right now with Ring devices starting from just £44.The Tapo device isn't cheap, but it can be used without paying per month, and it does have some pretty fancy features.It could be one to watch out for if you want an alternative to Ring.
