macOS Tahoe 26 beta 3 now available, here's what to expect - 9to5Mac

Update: It looks like Apple ran into a distribution issue affecting the Apple Silicon version of today’s macOS Tahoe beta.For now, the update appears to be available only to Intel Macs.Two weeks after releasing the second wave of developer betas, Apple has just dropped macOS Tahoe 26 beta 3, alongside updates to its other operating systems.

The build number for today’s macOS Tahoe 26 beta 3 release is 25A5306g.As announced at WWDC25, macOS Tahoe 26 introduces the Liquid Glass UI overhaul, alongside features like Live Activities on the Mac, a much improved Spotlight with clipboard history and Shortcuts integration, plus a dedicated Phone app and Live Translation for Messages, FaceTime and phone calls.The system is also getting the new Games app, as well as the long-awaited Journal app.

Here’s how to install the macOS Tahoe 26 developer beta 3: Backup your Mac Open System Settings Go to General ⇾ Software Update Click the ‘i’ icon next to Beta Updates From the dropdown menu in the top-right, select the macOS Developer Tahoe Beta Hit ‘Done’ Any sign of the public beta? As Apple said during the WWDC25 keynote, public betas are expected to drop this month.Public betas typically arrive alongside developer beta 3 or 4, so the wait is almost over.As for developer beta 3, Apple hasn’t detailed what, if any, new features or changes made their way into the system beyond the usual under-the-hood improvements and bug fixes.
