I’ve used the iPhone 16 for more than a year, and it is a dependable, reliable iPhone with good performance, decent battery life and all the camera most people need.It has been superseded now by the iPhone 17, but for most people it is worth saving £200 and going with this newly discounted model. At the time of writing, Amazon has the black, pink, teal and ultramarine colours in stock. This is a solid deal on an iPhone that is still excellent and will continue to get software updates for at least five more years, if Apple’s track record is anything to go by.The iPhone 16 has great dual rear cameras, with an ultrawide and a main, plus Apple’s clever Camera Control button on the side to act as a shutter button, You can even swipe on it to zoom, though with no dedicated telephoto lens on this device, zoomed photos are not its forte.

It’s handy to have. With MagSafe built into the back of the iPhone 16, you can can buy into an ecosystem of magnetic chargers and accessories such as wallets and popsockets.I frequently snap my phone onto a magnetic charger rather than plug in a USB-C cable to juice up, even though the latter is faster. It’s not clear how long this £599 price for the iPhone 16 will be on at Amazon, but it’s well worth a look if you are looking to upgrade to a recent iPhone without paying full price.
