I’ve used the iPhone 16 for more than a year, and it is a dependable, reliable iPhone with good performance, decent battery life and all the camera most people need.It has been superseded now by the iPhone 17, but for most people it is worth saving £200 and going with this newly discounted model.At the time of writing, Amazon has the black, pink, teal and ultramarine colours in stock.This is a solid deal on an iPhone that is still excellent and will continue to get software updates for at least five more years, if Apple’s track record is anything to go by.The iPhone 16 has great dual rear cameras, with an ultrawide and a main, plus Apple’s clever Camera Control button on the side to act as a shutter button, You can even swipe on it to zoom, though with no dedicated telephoto lens on this device, zoomed photos are not its forte.
Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTThe display is a 6.1-inch OLED that gets very bright in direct sunlight.One thing to note is it is a 60Hz screen, while the newer iPhone 17 (and most Android phones these days) have zippier 120Hz panels.Still, even though I test many devices with technically superior tech, I really don’t mind the 60Hz screen on the iPhone 16 when I’m using it as my main phone.
