From Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski, the Brad Pitt-starring film was shot for IMAX and Apple hopes it can take off like Maverick did a few years ago.F1’s new trailer was just released, revealing there’s definitely potential for a hit.F1 movie is a risk for Apple and Hollywood F1 reportedly has a budget nearing $300 million, which for any Hollywood studio would be a huge swing.
For Apple, while the company doesn’t exactly need to make a profit on F1, the stakes are still extremely high.If F1 fails, Apple might give up on big theatrical movie releases altogether.This could be a blow to Hollywood, lending support to Netflix’s approach of direct-to-streaming only.
