Spotify Free comes with enough limitations that the company hopes it will persuade you to upgrade to a premium subscription. But one of the four limits is being removed from today … Unlike Apple Music, which offers paid subscriptions only (aside from a limited free trial), Spotify offers the choice of free and premium subscriptions.Spotify Free has so far had four major drawbacks: Interruptions from ads Lower audio quality Limited ability to skip unwanted tracks Shuffle-only playback on mobile That latter limitation meant that it was impossible to simply choose a specific track and immediately listen to it.
Instead, you had to choose an album or playlist containing it and then hope you had sufficient skips available to quickly reach it.All that is changing from today, however.reports that free users can now choose any track and listen to it immediately.
As the site notes, this happened shortly after the company finally announced lossless audio for premium subscribers.Highlighted accessories Vinyl turntables Official Apple Store on Amazon Apple 40W Dynamic Power Adapter for iPhone 17 Official Apple iPhone Air cases and bumpers iPhone Air MagSafe Battery Official iPhone 17 cases Official iPhone 17 Pro cases and Pro Max cases You’re reading 9to5Mac — experts who break news about Apple and its surrounding ecosystem, day after day.Be sure to check out our homepage for all the latest news, and follow 9to5Mac on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to stay in the loop.
