It’s nearly time for Mobile World Congress (MWC), the annual technology trade show that takes place in Barcelona every year.This year it runs from March 2 to March 5.Though it’s no longer the event where all the year’s top Android phones are launched, many huge brands turn up and use the stage to unveil their latest technology, and it seems this year will be no different.Leading the charge is Honor, the Chinese tech firm that used to be owned by Huawei.
Honor has lifted the lid early to share images and specs of its new MagicPad 4, an Android tablet with some very eye-catching numbers attached to it that could tempt you away from buying that iPad Pro you’ve been thinking about.Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT Read more: Honor Magic 8 Pro has sky-high ambitions but isn't quite a first class flight Read more: New Android phone coming to UK has two perks Samsung can’t match The MagicPad 4, is Honor claims, the “world’s thinnest tablet” with a thickness of just 4.8mm.That makes it marginally thinner than the 5.1mm iPad Pro and 5.1mm Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra that it appears to be set to compete with.One thing Honor hasn’t told us yet is the price, so it remains to be seen if the MagicPad 4 will compete against the £999 iPad Pro or the £599 iPad Air - though last year’s MagicPad 3 retailed for £599, so it’s likely the latter.But whichever rival tablets Honor is hoping to woo you away from, the MagicPad 4 seems to have the specs to fight with the best of them.

Honor says the MagicPad 4 is the first tablet on the market to have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor - which is the not-quite-top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and OnePlus 15, but should be more than enough oomph for most tablet tinkerers.Article continues below ADVERTISEMENTNot only that but it also packs in a huge 10,100mAh battery that is compatible with 66W fast charging so you can top up quickly if you’re out and about and on the move.For those who are, Honor’s PC Mode offers a desktop-like user interface, and the tablet is compatible with keyboard and stylus accessories, so you could invest in the MagicPad 4 and have a tablet and laptop in one.“For a complete mobile office, the tablet, keyboard, and stylus combined weigh approximately 852g, making the entire setup lighter than a 13-inch MacBook Air,” honor said in a press release.Apple introduces the brand new iPad Pro It wouldn’t be a tech launch in 2026 without a bit of AI, and Honor makes sure to tick that box with the tablet getting tools such as AI Memo smart assistant that can supposedly automatically generate meeting notes and even label different speakers, plus tools to summarise recordings and documents, audio editing features and more.And if you can’t quite leave all your Apple devices behind, Honor says the MagicPad 4 can connect to Macs to be used as an extended screen, and can instantly connect to your iPhone, iPad or Mac to share files.We will have to wait until MWC for Honor to announce the price of the MagicPad 4, but this new slate will be tempting for Android fans looking for a head-turning design and up-to-the-minute specs.
