Apple renews Seth Rogens Hollywood satire 'The Studio' for season two ahead of finale - 9to5Mac

It’s official:  will return for a second season on Apple TV+.The renewal comes as the Hollywood satire wraps up its critically acclaimed first run, with just three episodes remaining before the season finale airs on May 21.Apple announced the pickup in characteristically meta fashion, sharing an episode clip on social media that cleverly mirrors the show’s behind-the-scenes themes: Premiering in late March,  arrived just after  concluded its second season, helping Apple TV+ maintain momentum into the summer.

Created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the series stars Rogen as Matt Remick, a clueless yet confident new studio head navigating the absurdities of modern Hollywood.It’s been a standout performer in Apple’s growing comedy lineup.This marks Rogen’s second Apple TV+ series to earn a sophomore season.

His previous comedy , co-starring Rose Byrne, was also renewed after a strong debut last year with a second season coming this summer.The decision to greenlight more of  likely wasn’t a difficult one.The series blends fictional characters and over-the-top celebrity cameos to skewer everything from blockbuster reboots to prestige Oscar bait.

There’s no shortage of material, and according to co-creator Alex Gregory, the writers are ready to dig deeper.With the renewal now official, it sounds like the fictional Continental Studios may soon go global—while real-life Hollywood continues to provide an endless supply of storylines.Season two’s writing room might already have its next episode: navigating a president’s 100% tariff on foreign films.
