Fall is one of those seasons that makes staying in with a good movie feel like the better plan. And while cozy watches usually bring warm small towns, books, and sweeping romances to mind, sometimes all you really need is a simple story that helps you relax after a long day.Netflix has a few movies that fit that mood particularly well.
From coming-of-age stories and soft romcoms, there's plenty to choose from, but these four are my favorites. Here's all you need to know. The Half of It Love gets a little complicated puts a different spin on your usual high school romance story.
It follows Ellie Chu (Leah Lewis), a quiet, academically gifted student who makes extra money writing essays for her classmates. The story is set in motion when football player Paul Munsky asks her to help him write love letters to Aster Flores, the girl he has a crush on.Ellie agrees, but as she gets to know Aster through the letters and messages she writes on Paul's behalf, she realizes she has feelings for her too, vicariously falling in love with her.
The small-town setting and slower pace give a soft feel.It is funny in places, a little bittersweet in others, and fleshes out Ellie and Paul's unlikely friendship as much as it follows the love triangle. If your idea of a cozy watch looks slow (with a sweet payoff), is a good one to settle into.

One of those letters reaches Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), and the two eventually agree to fake a relationship for their own reasons.Predictably, pretending gets harder once real feelings get involved, turning Lara Jean's carefully private love life into something she can no longer hide behind a stack of unsent letters. There is plenty about the movie that fits comfortably into a fall watch list, from Lara Jean's baking and family scenes to the soft high school romance at its center.
