These Minecraft models make for perfect 3D printing weekend projects (Oct 23 - 25)

Minecraft_ fan who wants to bring Mojang’s intoxicating world to life.I’ve been playing a lot of lately, so I’ve caught the bug again. Here are some 3D models I’ve got lined up.

A wearable helmet Plus Steve’s head Halloween is almost here, and holds plenty of costume inspiration for obsessed kids and adults. If you’re prepared to put a bit of time into finishing the model by hand, this wearable helmet can really look the part. The model description includes a bill of materials for an ideal build, including neoprene foam padding and elastic.

How you finish depends on the look you’re going for; one reviewer simply applied metallic spray paint for an instantly shiny look. There is a wearable Steve head that you can print too.Just be aware that there are no eye-holes in this model, so you might want to make a few tactical cuts in your slicer of choice and use a mesh on the inside of the model so that you can see where you’re going.

Both can be scaled up or down to fit! Inventory dock for under your monitor Does nothing, looks great, 10/10 This inventory dock is a neat little desk ornament in the style. It includes space for storing small items, plus there are additional models you can print to fill out your inventory. This doesn’t necessarily anything, but that hasn’t stopped the print from receiving overwhelming praise.

In addition to finding its way under monitors, some have put the inventory bar inside their PC cases, on their car dashboards (reconsider this if you live anywhere that gets remotely warm), and on top of 3D printers.Vine wall decor and glass windows These look ridiculously good Seeing pixelated objects that look ripped right out of a video game in the real world is uncanny in a way that impresses, and both of these prints absolutely nail the effect. These vines are small, square tiles that can be produced as multi-color or single-color prints ready to be painted.

Apply them to the wall for a stunning real-life pixel effect. In addition, these windows achieve the same effect with considerably less filament. The most important thing here is to make sure that you scale the print appropriately for your window so that the tile effect is uninterrupted.

cats, dogs, chickens, bees, and more Bring your favorite creatures to life Close The creatures that aren’t trying to kill you are absolutely adorable; I think we can all agree. There’s a cuteness to the naivety that I find captivating, especially the cats. That might be why cats are so well-catered for in terms of 3D-printed models.

I printed the AMS-free Minecraft cat, and I even adapted the colors to match one of my own.The other model I’ve yet to print is the sitting down cat, which can also be adjusted if you want to make a replica of your real-life moggy.Of course, there’s a decent dog available too.

Beyond this, you’ll find all manner of creatures to print including chickens and chicks, bees, spiders, frogs, and even parrots.Working light switches And decorative levers Light switches are one of the best examples of satisfying mechanical 3D prints you can make, and switches lend themselves well to this concept.I was quite surprised by the sheer number of -themed switches I found while looking.

They’re perfect for kids’ rooms, game rooms, offices, dens, and anywhere you want to inject a bit of blocky personality. The key is matching the print to the style of switch that you have installed. You can print single levers for flat switches, double levers for protruding switches, simple non-mechanical levers, large levers for wide rockers, and many more.

torches and lamps For exploring caves or a warm ambient glow Torches and lamps are vital in when exploring and building shelter.Quite possibly my favorite print on this list, the torch lamp can be mounted on a wall at an angle or placed upright on a table or desk.It relies on the Bambu Lab LED light kit, with an alternative version that uses a flameless tea light for a flickering effect instead.

Alternatively, give the decorative lamp a look. This hanging lamp is designed for a flameless tea light or whatever else you can get your hands on (just don’t use real fire). The key to both of these is finding the right translucent filament to cast a warm glow.

There are plenty of glowing block lamps available too, if you prefer that style.isn’t the only video game you can bring to life with a 3D printer.Check out these models too!
