The weekend's almost here, so it's relax time.If you're on the hunt for some good TV to watch, Paramount+ has tons to choose from, but finding it can be a chore. Not to worry, though, as I've pulled three bingable picks—one is a sharp workplace comedy that you can get through before Monday arrives, one that's a relentless special ops drama with seven seasons, and an iconic sitcom where everybody knows your name.
3 Dreaming Whilst Black Showtime and Paramount+'s critically-acclaimed series is one of a handful of the platform's originals to garner a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. And for good reason. The bingeworthy British comedic drama is a brilliantly original satire that takes aim at what it's like to be a Black person trying to make it as a filmmaker in a predominantly white film and TV world.
First premiering in 2023 (with a second season arriving February 20, just in time for Black History Month), centers on aspiring filmmaker Kwabena (series co-creator Adjani Salmon), who often has surreal and hilarious dreams of being on set as a big-shot director, but is actually stuck in a cubicle at his dead-end job at a recruitment agency.Things change for Adjani when a real shot at a real directing gig forces him to choose between keeping his safe, but soul-sucking gig or taking a chance on his dreams. With support from his producer friend Amy (Dani Moseley) and a budding romance with Vanessa (Babirye Bukilwa), Adjani navigates being broke, having to take on odd jobs, and other family stresses to make it happen.
The six-episode comedy is smart and nuanced, and Salmon is brilliant, especially when bantering with his co-stars.It's one of the best shows on the service right now.Dreaming Whilst Black TV-MA Comedy Drama Release Date 2023 - 2025-00-00 Where to watch Close WHERE TO WATCH Streaming BUY Network BBC Three Cast Dani Moseley, Adjani Salmon, Babirye Bukilwa, Demmy Ladipo, Isy Suttie Directors Koby Adom, Joelle Mae David, Sebastian Thiel Writers Ali Hughes, Adjani Salmon Main Genre Comedy Creator(s) Natasha Jatania, Adjani Salmon, Max Evans Producers Adjani Salmon Seasons 2 Streaming Service(s) Paramount Plus Powered by Expand Collapse 2 SEAL Team With seven seasons and 114 episodes, you're obviously not going to get through in one weekend, but for those Paramount+ subscribers looking to trench-in and binge episodes that are bite-sized and satisfying, but offer a sweeping arc that builds over time, then this is for you.
This long-running mission-of-the-week series follows a team of elite Navy SEALs as they carry out everything from covert intel ops, hostage rescues, raids, high-risk captures, and more.Led by veteran Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz), the core squad includes Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr.), Sonny Quinn (A.J.
Buckley), medic Lisa Davis (Toni Trucks), and Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot), who have each other's back through thick and thin. And while the series features some excellent and realistic battle and mission sequences, it doesn't shy away from emotional and psychological themes that often explore the trauma and price that members of the military pay to do what they do.All seven seasons of the Emmy-nominated series, which concluded in 2024, are available to binge in all their glory on Paramount+.
