Forget the classics: 4 movies that prove Pixar actually peaked in the 2010s

As someone who has grown up watching Pixar and witnessed the evolution of animation, there have been many times where I think I’m watching the company's peak, as in "This is the best movie I’ve ever seen." Often, when it comes to Pixar, I’ve noticed many people believe the earliest portion of its life, in the 2000s, was when it peaked, but I’m here to say that’s false. Why is that not true? Well, that’s because Pixar actually peaked in the 2010s.I know, I know, there will be some who will vehemently fight me over this.

But I’m here to tell the truth, and it’s because of these four movies that I believe it to be true.Toy Story 3 An absolute classic Yes, believe it or not, is a 2010s Pixar movie, or at least it was at the very beginning of it.is usually the movie where everyone says that Pixar started to go downhill after it was released.

I can understand why, because there were some not-so-great Pixar films in the 2010s, but there were also fantastic ones that came after , which we will get into.is still just as good as it was when I first watched it, regardless of its release date. The story hits just as hard, and I genuinely think that there hasn’t really been another Pixar villain that has come close to beating Lotso.

To be fair, I do think Pixar has milked this franchise a bit too much with the next two films, since felt like the perfect conclusion. But that’s beside the point — this was only the beginning.Toy Story 3 G Animation Family Comedy Release Date June 18, 2010 Where to watch Close WHERE TO WATCH Streaming RENT BUY Powered by Expand Collapse Monsters University Did someone say college? I bet you weren’t expecting to see this on here, but yes, I do believe is a top-tier Pixar movie, even though it was a prequel to .

Why do I believe that? Well, plenty of reasons. One is that somehow they got the same voice cast back together more than ten years after the first film was released, which is hard to do when your two leads are John Goodman and Billy Crystal — huge names in Hollywood. Roku Streambar $87 $99 Save $12 Connective Technology Bluetooth, HDMI, Optical, Wi-Fi Storage 4GB See at Amazon Expand Collapse One of the biggest reasons, though, is the expansion of lore.I absolutely love the fact that it plays in the world of.

and adds more to the universe that we know.It also keeps the characters relatively the same and shows how they grow into the monsters we all know them to be later on.And there is just something about an underdog and a jock (Mike and Sully) working together that gets me every time.

How their friendship was built, as well as the friendships of the university friends around them, is always rewarding to watch.Maybe I have a special place in my heart for this film because it was released around the time I was looking at colleges, but it’s still a great peak for Pixar.Monsters University G Animation Family Release Date June 19, 2013 Where to watch Close WHERE TO WATCH Streaming RENT BUY Powered by Expand Collapse Inside Out What if feelings had feelings? was released in 2015, and truthfully, it’s the first film that I think actively changed something in my brain the moment I watched it.

At the time, it felt like a joke.Pixar was always making things have feelings — robots, cars, toys, etc.So when this movie came along, acting as if it were about “feelings that had feelings,” everyone sort of made fun of it.

But then it premiered, and I honestly felt more in touch with my emotions than I had ever been before.Related Disney+'s weird relationship with Blu-ray is hurting physical media Disney's distribution slowdown is not only hurting collectors and fans, but is repeating one of the companies' worst traditions.Posts By  Nathan Graham-Lowery The film shows the emotions, mainly Joy, growing and maturing as Riley does, understanding that it’s okay to feel sadness and to be a well-rounded person instead of just super happy all the time.

To be honest, that’s a pretty heavy theme for a film that’s usually catered to kids.I believe this is what makes so special – it’s great for children to watch. It also teaches valuable lessons that even adults will get a kick out of.
